Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo has been a monster this past few games this 2017-2018 NBA regular season. This 6-11, 222lb Small Forward from Athens, Greece plays almost every role in a team. At the age of just 22, this kid is built for stardom.
Why won’t he be? Have you seen the changes on him? Both body and play-wise. Check out the accomplishments under his belt:
• 1x All Star 2017
• 2017 NBA Most Improved Player
• 2017 NBA All-Defensive Second Team
• 2017 All-NBA Second Team
Just to name a few folks! The Greek Freak, as the fans have dubbed him, has been so underrated to a point where it’s being ridiculous. This man, with his 226 cm wingspan, can run and gun, shoot outside baskets and be a monster defender. He scored 147 points in just 4 games. That’s the most points scored in Bucks’ history. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had 146 in 1970-1971.
In just 4 games, he averages 36.8 PPG, 5.3 assists and was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the first week of the 2017–18 season. I know we are focused on the Super Teams like Golden State, OKC or the Cavaliers but, maybe this time, we can focus on something even greater. Appreciating a talent under a team with a super player with a name we can hardly pronounce.
